Basket of Blessings

I have had this sweet little top waiting to be finished... and decided the other day that it is finished.

I quilted it simply in a grid, bound it in red, and voila!  Label from my supply of vintage embroidered basket blocks:

This is the center from a larger wall quilt pattern by Lori at Humble Quilts, published in Primitive Quilts, Spring 2015 issue. Lori  called the quilt Basket of Blessings and I love that.  I think of the blooms as being: me and David, our three children, and the center big bloom is the love that ties us all together.

Thank you Lori!

It looks sweet in my sewing/guest room and goes with my recently finished Winter Quilt.  I guess I'm drawn to this soft red/pink/neutrals color scheme.

Space is tight but the ironing board (Ikea island) transforms to a nightstand when the need arises:)...

In other news, I can't stop baking these donuts!!  I am way way way off the Weight Watchers wagon at this point.

  3. Your basket quilt complements the winter quilt perfectly! Your guest room looks so tranquil with those two quilts featured, and a sweet place for a nap for you too. Those donuts look wonderful, and I won't even think of looking at the recipe ...

  7. Oh how I adore this quilt! It is so sweet! I saw Lori's quilt int he magazine, but now I am really inspired to make one too! You are too funny with the donut making. How can you bake in this heat? I don't think my oven has been on since May. I have stopped worrying about my weight. My friend is a nurse in a geriatric practice and she says it is important to have a little extra weight (emphasis on "little" I'm afraid) at my age so I will have reserves should I contract something dreadful. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
